Samantha Franks is a recently admitted solicitor working alongside Mr Hagen in both Family Law and Criminal Law. Since completing her double degree in Arts (Psychology) and Laws (Honours), Samantha has dedicated herself to supporting clients through some of the most challenging moments in their lives. What began with a passion for justice and advocacy has grown into a role where she provides empathetic, clear, and professional support, assisting with case preparation, client communication, and legal documentation, all while developing her own caseload.
Samantha works across a broad range of legal matters, including parenting arrangements, property settlements, financial agreements, divorce proceedings, and criminal offences from minor infringements to more serious charges. Her clients often say they appreciate her approachable manner, her ability to listen attentively, and the positive, supportive tone she brings to every interaction.
For Samantha, the heart of legal practice lies in helping people feel heard and understood, even when legal solutions aren’t immediately possible. “Sometimes clients don’t need a solution; they just need to be listened to,” she says. “Providing guidance, empathy, and reassurance is just as important as the legal work we do.”
Memorable Moments
A standout moment in Samantha’s journey was completing her double degree, which laid the foundation for understanding both the law and people’s behaviour — crucial in Family and Criminal Law. Another formative experience came during a gap year at a law firm, when a distraught client sought help after her children were taken from her. “It was a difficult but important lesson,” Samantha recalls. “I learned that even when we can’t solve every problem, being present, listening, and offering support can make a real difference.”
Even the quieter victories bring her fulfillment — helping a client feel supported during a stressful legal process, assisting with complex documents, or preparing for court conferences. “Seeing clients gain confidence and relief at the end of a matter is incredibly rewarding,” she says.
A Local Focus
Samantha is passionate about supporting her local community. Whether assisting families with sensitive matters or guiding clients through criminal proceedings, she takes pride in providing empathetic, professional support that prioritises wellbeing and fairness.
Outside the Office
When she’s not practicing law, Samantha enjoys quality time with her husband, family, and friends. She loves exploring markets, going on little adventures, and relaxing at home with her cat and three dogs. She’s also a fan of travel, martial arts, aerial acrobatics, and live experiences — and yes, she’s a devoted Harry Potter fan with a serious ice cream addiction.
